Since the advent of the iPhone, my career has revolved around GUI design, a field I cherish for its attention to detail and graphic craftsmanship. Today, the landscape has evolved significantly, with established teams leveraging design systems, patterned learning algorithms and AI to tackle challenges more efficiently. As a result, the role of a graphic designer has shifted towards problem discovery within a human-centered process.
With over a decade of experience in UX design, I have specialized in web and mobile interfaces across various industries, serving both B2C and B2B markets. My passion for understanding diverse perspectives has been fueled by my experiences living in South Korea and the USA.
To this day, I remain dedicated to designing data from multifaceted viewpoints. Rather than relying solely on design tools, I strive to approach data visualization differently, delving into its intricacies. Utilizing tools like R programming, typically used by data scientists, I simulate chart interactions using actual data, adding depth to my designs.

It was such a pleasure to work with Miyoung. I worked alongside her on the Sustainability UX team as another UX designer.
With every project, Miyoung brought exceptional attention to detail and would ask great questions that helped us have a better understanding of complex concepts during our requirements discovery.
She was a huge help with developing the updated space tree component that allows users to see the hierarchy of their spaces within a complex table. We had a tight deadline and Miyoung was able to get onboarded quickly to the project and design the new component. She delivered on time and with high quality when our team was in a crunch to complete the project.
I've attended collaboration sessions where Miyoung hosted the meetings and also documented existing complex user tasks in order to find areas of opportunity for improving the user experience. Her meeting agenda and documentation was always organized in an effective manner where other designers, including myself, could align our requirements with her research and designs.
Her efforts did so much heavy lifting for the team in both research and design with requirements that would evolve from discovery.

Miyoung is one of the best UX designers I've had the pleasure of working with. When she works on a project, she's all-in - she is deeply involved in both generative and evaluative research. I'll offer an example from a recent product and service project. The topic area was more complex than most, and she immediately began conducting her own research to learn and better understand the users, their roles, and what they do. From the beginning, she was hands-on, helping me to structure the research plan and questions, refining our documentation, attending every user interview, and sharing her own notes and insights. She then created a series of potential design solutions that were well beyond anything I'd seen before from a UX Designer in terms of visual presentation, with a host of options for each element of the interface. Those designs directly reflected her own research into the topic, and when we conducted our formative and summative reviews, both the users and our stakeholders were very receptive and, frankly, amazed at what they saw. As a UX researcher, my experience working with Miyoung was second to none. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, and is a true team player.
